I wonder how this movie was made. As I think about it, something like this comes to mind: a bunch of movie-makers comes together and says - “Okay, let’s make a comedy flick.

Let’s have a nice mansion with ghosts and dead guys in it, that

seems to be popular; and let’s invite Eddie Murphy to play the main part, he’s always funny; and let’s give him a pretty wife, every movie needs one; and a couple of cute kids, cute kids always sell.

” So, that’s “The Haunted Mansion” for you.

      Jim ...

      • Evers, a real estate agent (Murphy) comes to the huge Gracey Manor together with his wife and two kids.

It is his wife, Sarah, who was invited, but Jim comes along, smelling a possible deal.

Then come the ghosts and the dead guys.

        It turns out

that the owner of the estate, Master Gracey, is a ghost, and his wife, long dead, looked exactly like Sarah; so he wants to marry Sarah (never mind that she is a different person, and with a husband) to “re-unite” with his wife.

        Stupid? Yes, I agree.
