  • I like being able to tun this program on and then learn about some of the structures and how they were built
  • The ship had an issue because it only had 3 quarters of an inch of steel protecting the oil it was carrying from the environment
  • I'd definitely recommend this show to anyone who was the least bit curious to how modern technology works or doesn't work in some cases

Modern Marvels is a great show brought to the viewing public by the History channel.

I like being able to tun this program on and then learn about some of the structures and how they were built. Everything from collapsed and fixed bridges to antenna towers to bullet trains and demolitions. Pretty much anything mechanical or scientific in

      our modern world’s technology.

I particularly like this show because as an engineering student, I am genuinely interested in how modern structures work and are maintained. There’s a special sub-series from modern Marvels called Engineering Disasters. In this show, it is illustrated how our technology didn’t work. From the failed blimps to antenna crashes to engine failure, Engineering ...

      • Disasters are explained. Specifically, the Exxon-Valdez oil spill. The show goes into detail about the spill and what actually caused it. Most people believed the accident was caused solely by the drunken captain, but along with human error, there was a failure in the actual ship. The ship had an issue because it only had 3 quarters of
an inch of steel protecting the oil it was carrying from the environment. One hull was against regulations. The ship was supposed to have another hull.

Certain things like this I like learning about.

I’d definitely recommend this show to anyone who was the least bit curious to how modern technology works or doesn’t work in some cases.
