I have always loved Rice Krispie bars, but growing up my mother added a twist to them. On top she would put caramel and chocolate and they were to die for.

You have to try this recipe for yourself and you will see why I went gaga over them.

First of all melt one bag

      of marshmellows with 1/2 butter.

Stir in a teaspoon of vanilla and then add 10 1/2 to 11 cups of Rice Krispies cereal making sure to coat it all.

Place the warm mixture into a 9 X 13 inch cake pan.

Next unwrap a bag of caramels and place in a microwave safe container ...

      • with a can of sweetened condensed milk.

Microwave until the caramels melt, and then spread onto the rice krispie bars.

Let cool for a few minutes.

Next, melt one bag of chocolate chips and spread onto the cooled caramel.

Place the pan in the refrigerator and let set for a while until chocolate is

        hardened.

        Cut bars and enjoy.

These bars do get pricey to make, but they are so easy to do and they taste fabulous.

They are perfect to take to any picnic or party and will get eaten up in a flash.

You are bound to come home with an empty pan if you take these to a potluck.
