The Children of the Huang Shi, a true story about a group of Chinese children left with no families to care for them because of the Second World War event. They faced a drastic change when a British journalist was brought to them; they resisted, made fun of him, but their lives changed with him.

He taught them English, and taught them how to have their own food.

      The

setting in times of war was realistic.

I like the set, a place in China called Nanjing, the war ruins, the old monasteries, the Japanese soldiers, the Chinese Nationalists party, the bombs, planes, and the emotions of the characters during the war.

It sure has shown how cruel people can be in war, and how kind they really are in such a time too.

I especially liked the role ...

      • of Chow Yun-Fat in this movie, he was not the lead star, but sure have made the movie a bit more lively; and of course, Michelle Yeoh too.

The movie wouldn’t have been complete without their appearance.

I liked the testimonials of the children whom Mr.

Hogg, the British journalist who saved these children, brought them to a new land, and made a difference in their lives that made

        me love this movie.

Someone’s perseverance, patience and attitude can save a life, and make a difference.

And these are what the rest of the children said so; they never forgot what the foreigner did to them.

This movie is really worth watching, it is an eye opener, a lesson teacher and historical review.

It won’t make you forget the past, but will make you look forward to the future.
