This movie is based on a true story about a guy who found money fallen off of a bank car and decided to keep it. The lucky fellow, Joey, is played by John Cusack.

Joey, an unemployed dockworker, can certainly use the money, so at first you somewhat sympathize with him when you see him pick up those two sacks with $1.

      2 million inside.

      However, he soon lost my

Not only was he determined to do what’s wrong, despite knowing that finding and keeping anything worth over $200 is considered theft, he wasn’t even smart about it.

He can’t keep quiet about his fortune.

First, he goes to his ex-girlfriend who works in a bank and asks her what she would do if he showed up wishing to invest a million dollars, cash, without the IRS knowing ...

      • about it.

The girlfriend is not stupid, especially when the story of someone finding the $1.

2 million is all over the news, and the whole town is talking about it.

She asks Joey flat out whether he found the money, and he admits.

More and more people find out about his secret - his family, some of his bar buddies, and then the mob when he goes to them

to exchange the $100 bills into something smaller.

With all the stupid things that he does, and with two witnesses who saw him picking up the money, you know Joey is gonna get caught - and he is.

I suppose the idea behind this story is that stolen money won’t make you happy, especially if you don’t know what to do with it.

I found the movie overdrawn and boring.
