In this age of advancing electronics I finally decided it was time to replace my old VCR recorder with a new age DVD recorder. After searching the market for a while I finally decided on the Panasonic DMR-EZ475V DVD Recorder.

This DVD recorder had many features that I found to be quite interesting.

Unlike a standard recorder that can

just take currently running programs on the television and record them onto an inserted tape, this recorder can record shows onto blank DVD disks, VHS tapes, or SD memory cards.

In the event that you don’t have a disk readily available you can also record onto the devices internal memory, much like a computer, TIVO, or DVR.

      Also like ...

      • a TIVO or DVR, you can use the devices internal clock to schedule recordings days, even weeks, in advance.

You can also choose to copy recordings between any of the mediums, transfer VHS to DVD or vice-versa to save your old home movies.

You can also use the device to play back recordings including DVDs, VHSs, pictures off of

a camera memory card, and music CDs, eliminating the need to buy a lot of other expensive and large equipment.

You can even transfer pictures from your camera’s memory card onto a DVD to create a slideshow movie with your pictures.

All in all this is a very useful, fun, and interesting device that anybody can find a reason to use.
