Swiss Cottage London UK
  • Overall I would really recommend this hotel as a great place to stay, on the outskirts of London but within easy reach of the centre

Marriott in London is where we go with Steve’s Mom and Dad when we go down to London for the weekend. The hotel is located in the Swiss cottage area of London.

The hotel is ideally placed for the centre and west end of London and for the motorway network to get out of London quickly back home. The hotel used to be a Holiday Inn before Marriott took it over.

The hotel is very large and quite old but it is in very condition and very clean. The reception area has a separate concierge facility which we have used several times to get us theatre tickets and arrange

taxi’s etc. This service is very good and very friendly. The staff on reception are also very friendly and typical Marriott staff who we have always found to be very helpful. There is also a small gift shop in reception that also sells newspapers if you wish to buy them we don’t bother but have bought the odd thing from them. It isn’t run by the Marriott but the staff are friendly but the prices are a little more expensive.

Within the reception area is the bar and lounge where you can have food as well. The choice of food in the lounge is very good ...

      • and tastes great as this is sometimes where we eat before going to the theatre. As normal the staff are great but the lounge can get busy at times.

There is also a great restaurant that over looks there gardens, this is also where breakfast is served. The breakfast follows the usual Marriott buffet style which is great as Steve loves buffet breakfast and only normally has a breakfast when we are away from home. The food I find is always fresh and very tasty. The food of an evening in the restaurant is of the same quality and when we have a night out there it

always makes for a very nice romantic evening.

There are plenty of leisure facilities at the hotel and I have used most of them including the large pool and the sauna and steam rooms. There is a gym which Steve uses as well which looks very well equipped.

The rooms in the hotel are very large and always very clean, we normally end up with a room with two double beds so when we take the kids they can easily fit into our rooms as well.

Overall I would really recommend this hotel as a great place to stay, on the outskirts of London but within easy reach of the centre.
