Criminal Minds Season 3 Episode 2-In Birth and Death

A thrilling and disturbing case of a killer who uses his own son to pick up women in public, bring them to his home and after 48 hour cut their heart out. He then disposes of their bodies as if they were trash, wrapped out in a white cloth during the morning hours, right before classes

start. This is the first episode where the team has to solve the case without Gideon and have to adjust to him missing. If that was not hard enough, they now have to deal with the department supervisor who thinks she can dictate them how to do the job and creates unnecessary tensions. Hotch is faced with the decision of transferring to another department,

      • which will allow him to spend more time with his family and avoid the politics at work. At the beginning is looked like Prentiss was ready to leave the show, but then they bring her back, she cancels her transfer and all in all there is a happy ending.

I really don’t know how to feel about this episode. On one hand, the

killer was a handsome man who did not seem to make any sense with his lessons for his son. They didn’t even look like they could have been related. The team had to deal with distracting and unnecessary drama and that whole game of back and forth, they’re leaving the team, and then they aren’t was quite exhausting. I’d say it was a pretty average episode.
