The Scorpion King, directed by Chuck Russell is rated PG-13 by the Motion Picture Association of America for intense sequences of action violence and some sensuality. The original release date was April 19, 2002 for United States audience. This movie falls in the genre of Action/Adventure/Fantasy/Romance/Thriller and stars Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson as Mathayus ‘The Scorpion King’, Steven Brand as Memnon, Michael Clarke Duncan as Balthazar and Kelly

      Hu as Cassandra.

Supposedly as parallel story to that of ‘The Mummy’, the Scorpion King is said to have made a deal with a not so friendly god who grants him special powers and an army from hell to assist him in conquering his enemies. This movie doesn’t follow up or on from that at all. We are taken on a journey where Mathayus is the last of his ...

      • people and he sets out to find and destroy the one man who is responsible.

This movie is somewhat entertaining as it comes with a whole now look at the essence of the Scorpion King’s nature other than that displayed in The Mummy. Trying to make a name for itself and not hanging on to that of its host.

Light hearted humor can be found along with the grandness of

the over the top action sequences and a semi-professional cast. You will like some parts and totally despise others as with most other movies. Don’t go into this movie expecting too much, you might end up getting burnt in the end.

Just enjoy it for what it gives, and hope that they don’t even consider to make a sequel. One is enough for some movies…and this is one of them.
