  • More or less you get the same thing every week, and I don't blame the people that work in the cafeteria they're wonderful, fun, funny, nice and helpful people

I wish I had never picked this school. With that being said

This school has a terrible retention rate. 40+% of the students transfer at the end of their first year, if they can wait that long. Personally, I’ll be leaving after the fall semester of this year. I remember my campus tour of the school, and how great the guide made the school sound. Now that I LIVED there in the only residence building they would take tours into, I over hear a lot of what the tour guides say and they lie, they lie to these kids and they lie to their parents badly. They show one dormitory, and it is the nicest one. The others are ancient, falling apart, gross, and generally not

nice places to live. It’s the honors dorm, and it is one of the newest buildings on campus. They show THIS to the kids to get them to see that they’ll be living in great conditions, when in reality if you are not in the FRESHMEN honors program, there’s little to no chance that you will live in that dorm. They also lie about the food while no college has GREAT food, they throw out wonderful spreads on weekend designated tour days to try to show kids and their parents that they give out great food and feed the kids well they don’t. More or less you get the same thing every week, and I don’t blame the people that work in the cafeteria ...

      • they’re wonderful, fun, funny, nice and helpful people. It is the people that THEY work for that set up this whole thing, and it’s terrible and they know that it is.

There is nothing to do in the surrounding area. The school is more or less in the middle of nowhere, so escaping if you are sick of the place is rough. This is why most of the kids go home on weekends, and the campus on Saturdays and Sundays is dead as a result. They lie about that too, telling kids there is a ton to do and showing pictures of a campus-fest with a ferris wheel and plate-spinners and all that we NEVER had that; I don’t know what school those pictures came from, but

they certainly weren’t from ours, that makes me sick to my stomach that they try to fool people like that. They got me, and I wish they hadn’t. Punishments on the campus is ridiculous because a couple of stupid kids with no self control drank themselves to death at parties, if you’re in a ROOM with alcohol you get nailed with an AA meeting, a $100 fine, 5 hours of community service. And that’s just the first time, if you’re caught again you’re even more screwed. It’s pathetic that they have to do this to appease parents who couldn’t raise their kids to know their limits for crying out loud.

And did I mention that we’ve had 7 deaths between March ‘07 and March ‘08? Think about that one
