This made-for-TV movie tells the story of Anna Anderson, a woman who claimed to be Anastasia, the daughter of the last Russian czar Nicholas II. Whether you believe that Anna Anderson actually

was the Grand Duchess Anastasia or not (the movie is built on the premise that she was), this is a well-told story you will most likely enjoy. Amy Irving who plays Anna/Anastasia ...

      • makes her character very alive and believable. The movie begins with the murder of the czar’s family by the Bolsheviks, and then we follow Anna as she escapes, travels to America, and
later tries to prove her identity. Nicholas II is played by Omar Sharif, not exactly a good cast, but he is there only briefly. Rex Harrison gives a chilling performance as Grand Duke Cyril Romanov.
