The Spokane Pride Festival occurs each year in June. In recent years they have changed the parade route to run through the downtown corridor ending in Riverfront Park which makes it fun and easy for people to get involved.

I enjoy that the events are always very child friendly.

      The organizers

provide free bounce castles, games, and activities to keep the kiddos entertained.

It’s very fun for everyone who has kids regardless of the makeup of their family.

There are also a number of entertainers for the adults to enjoy as well.

The Drum Corp makes an annual appearance and it’s worth ...

      • attending just to see their coordinated drumming on plastic buckets.

They have so much fun doing it and their delight is infectious.

For a Pride event, the festival in Spokane is fairly non-commercial.

The main events are free and the amount of sponsored advertising is minimal which I greatly appreciate.

While there are commercial booths at the festival most of them tend to be local.

Small businesses and organizations are well represented; it’s great to see the different businesses and services that are run by GLBT people or are supportive of GLBT people.

The festival is a great place to meet new people and catch up with old friends.
