Dead Silence, directed by James Wan is rated R by the Motion Picture Association of America for horror violence and images. The original release date was March 16, 2007 for United States audience. This movie falls in the genre of Horror/Mystery/Thriller and stars Ryan Kwanten as Jamie Ashen, Amber Valleta as Ella Ashen, Donnie Wahlberg as Detective Lipton, Michael Fairman as Henry Walker, Bob Gunter as Edward Ashen and Judith Roberts as

      Mary Shaw.

Jamie returns to his hometown to bury his wife Ella. While there, he is also trying to investigate the reason that led to his wife’s demise. Although he is the main suspect in her death, he has no choice but to leave the town in which the murder occurred. On his tail is Detective Lipton, who believes that Jamie is guilty of the crime.

It would seem that people have been dying ...

      • simply for saying a certain name in the small town. The name of Mary Shaw, a ventriloquist with a evil disposition. When she was killed for the kidnapping and murder of a young child, she swore vengeance on all the families involved, even their offsprings.

Mary Shaw live through the many dolls that she had created, through them, she was able to reach through the grave and exact her revenge on anyone who

        screamed after seeing her.

This movie fell very short of being deemed a horror movie for me. Maybe it takes a whole lot more than what this movie had to offer to scare me, but I was not amused. A mystery…yes, a thriller…ok, but hardly anthing horrific about it. Where is the terror that comes with the category. I have a challenge to these so-called director and screen writers, come up with a genuine horror movie.
