Planet of the Apes, directed by Tim Burton is rated PG-13 by the Motion Picture Association of America for some sequences of action/violence. The original release date was August 1, 2001 for Jamaican audience. This movie falls in the genre of Action/Adventure/Drama/Science Fiction and stars Mark Wahlberg as Captain Leo Davidson, Tim Roth as Thade, Helena Bonham Carter as

Ari, Michael Clarke Duncan as Attar, Paul Giamatti as Limbo, Estella Warren as Daena, Cary-Hirojuki Tagawa as Krull, David Warner as Sander and Kris Kristofferson as Karubi.

A remake of the classic story by the same name, this re-installation tries to put a modern feel to the otherwise older version…trying to appeal to the younger audiences…a money making rip-off scheme if you ask me.

Captain Leo Davidson gets stranded on an alien world the thought in the beginning was actually earth, he soon comes to the abstract reality that this world is rule by apes. No ordinary apes mind you, these mammals can talk, ride horses, wage war…they are the dominant species of the planet they are on.

      Typical American theory ...

      • Planet of the Apes (2001)
is that the world must revolve around them, it took an American astronaut to come to the planet, believe that the current circustances and wrong and does what he believes to be the American thing to do in taking down the rule of the apes.

This dear people was not one of Tim Burton’s best…

I will not hold this movie

against him as he as made an advent fan of me out of the marvelous work he has done throughout his many years as director. Everyone deserves a bad movie or two here and there, no one is perfect.

Not a bad movie, but definitely not a good on either. It’s a toss-up, you make the final decision on that call. Enjoy!

I’d love to get my hands on this movie. Another one that sounds great and familiar, I just can’t remember at this moment. I love the review I need to get this for before the end of the year and I can watch great movies for Christmas.
