El Faro Beach Spain Malaga
  • The entrance to the beach is through a tunnel under the main coast road, the entrance itself is kind of scruffy and you have to step over some running water to get through the tunnel but this isn't a major problem
  • I would really recommend this beach to anyone who wants a nice quiet sandy beach away from the main towns especially during the week

When we stop at my mom and dad’s we use the beach that is a five-minute walk from their house at El Faro. As we have the two kids we have a lot of toys and buckets and spades to carry down to the beach so we normally drive down. There is plenty of off road parking; the car park has just been re-laid albeit with a mix of gravel and sand.

The beach itself is sand rather than pebble, which is

a bonus; the beach is open all year round. From the middle of May through to the end of September you can rent sun beds and sun shades, depending on how the weather is you can sometimes rent the sunshade as late as the middle of October as we did last year.

      • get through the tunnel but this isn’t a major problem.

The beach is normally very clean however there is sometimes a lot of seaweed around depend on what time you go and when the tide has come in or out. The sea itself is normally very calm and very clean, my husband and dad normally go for a swim and sometimes they take the snorkel and flippers as you can see some great sea life around the rocks.

        We find the weekend

is a good time to go down as there are normally a lot of Spanish families down there having BBQ and the atmosphere is great. During the week the beach isn’t normally busy. At night we go for a walk along the beach and we see loads of fishermen on the shore doing a spot of sea fishing, which is great.

I would really recommend this beach to anyone who wants a nice quiet sandy beach away from the main towns especially during the week.
