Despite how promising the previous episode’s ending cliffhanger seemed, episode thirteen came and went without seeing an ounce of the Kakashi versus Zabuza fight. However, that is not to say that this episode was without action. Quite the contrary if truth be told. This episode revolved mainly around two conflicts: the fight between Haku and

Sasuke and Inari’s internal conflict as two of Gato’s goons came to kidnap his mom. Of course at first Inari is shaking in his boots and unable to move, but the goons decide not to kill him because his mom threatens to bite her own tongue off and kill herself, making her useless as a ...

      • hostage, if they did kill him.

Finally back to the action and we get to see the ego-centric Sasuke finally get put in his place as Haku totally owns throughout the fight. Sasuke is able to stay on his feet and dodge most of Haku’s attacks, just barely dodging most of them and never getting the

        chance to counterattack.

As if watching Sasuke getting beaten up wasn’t fun enough the episode switches back to Inari just in time to see Naruto show up in typical flair and fashion to save the day, just to do the same thing at the bridge just a few minutes later, stepping in to save Sasuke from Haku’s finishing blow.
