  • After a brief tantalizing taste of action Naruto returns to a peaceful setting and this episode is dedicated solely to character building and general information
  • Of course, Naruto doesn't know what chakra is(nor does the average viewer) so this episode is able to explain that as well as some ninja jargon to make the story flow better for a non-obsessed viewer, but even the most dedicated fan shouldn't find this non sequitur too obtrusive as it brings out the hilarious idiocy of Naruto and the smallest details such as this should make any obsessed fan happy

After a brief tantalizing taste of action Naruto returns to a peaceful setting and this episode is dedicated solely to character building and general information. At the cottage by the sea we meet some new characters who will never be seen again after this brief arc but a good bit of time is dedicated to building their

characters, especially the young Inari who, like every other character in the series, is almost exactly like Naruto but made different choices that made him miserable. After a brief break we see Zabuza, still alive and being a stereotypical baddie, and get character background on the new enemy, the rich business man Gato.

This episode also took some ...

      • time to give general ninja know-how to the viewers under the guise of a new training regiment for Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura. In this training they have to learn to master their chakra(energy) by focusing it in their feet and walking up a tree. Of course, Naruto doesn’t know what chakra is(nor does the average viewer) so
this episode is able to explain that as well as some ninja jargon to make the story flow better for a non-obsessed viewer, but even the most dedicated fan shouldn’t find this non sequitur too obtrusive as it brings out the hilarious idiocy of Naruto and the smallest details such as this should make any obsessed fan happy.
