After four episodes Naruto finally stakes its claim as a continuing series. While the episodes before episode 5 were great and did their job building the story, but episode 5 is the first one to actually continue directly off of a previous episode as Naruto, Sakura, and Sasuke continue their training mission with Kakashi-sensei.

The episode is again filled with action as Sakura and Sasuke, well, mainly Sasuke, get in on the fighting, although there are still spurts of humor that really give the show its kick.

Episode 5 is a rather unique episode in the sense that its main point is to develop a moral point to the ...

      • story. Although there is a good bit of character development in this episode, it is not overpowering to the point that it detracts from the story. By this point the show has done an excellent job building the characters so that watching this episode it is easy to guess how the characters will react,
which makes the character development seem like it is only in the background. Even the new things we learn about the characters are just eased into our frame of reference so that the emphasis remains on the story and building up the interest level for the great adventures that are bound to be coming.
