  • For one example, and what is quite possibly the best scene from the entire series, or any television show for that matter, Kakashi-sensei uses Konoha's secret technique, A Thousand Years of Pain, where he appears behind Naruto and sticks his fingers up Naruto's butt with no warning whatsoever

The previous episodes of Naruto were fun and entertaining, and at the beginning of episode 4 it appears like the trend is set to continue but at long last we get some more action. Naruto and the rest of Team 7 get their first mission with their new teacher, Kakashi Hatake, who after

only a couple minutes of character development proves to be an excellent character; well-rounded, funny, lively, and just a breath of mature, fresh air in what has proven to be an otherwise quite childish show.

This first mission is only a training mission but is already packed tight with a perfect combination of humor ...

      • and action. For one example, and what is quite possibly the best scene from the entire series, or any television show for that matter, Kakashi-sensei uses Konoha’s secret technique, A Thousand Years of Pain, where he appears behind Naruto and sticks his fingers up Naruto’s butt with no warning whatsoever. So shocking yet
so humorous, this scene is the epitome of what makes Naruto so great of a show, a perfect mixture of the funny with the serious, the childish with the adult, the drama with the ordinary. This episode was not so much a turning point for the show as it was a preemptive sharpening.
