I’ve had an ipod nano before, but it was the first generation and still had a lot of bugs in it. I picked up the 3rd generation 4GB ipod nano in january of this year as a Christmas present to myself!

As is pretty standard, it came in the regular ipod packaging and came with a USB cable, the iTunes disc, headphones, and something called a dock adapter which i don’t need because i have a separate dock for my ipod that i use

as a stereo/charching dock. As would be expected, the itunes was the same and it was easy to sync the songs i already had in itunes (songs already on my computer)to my ipod. as with with the other ipods, it has options to hold pictures and i’m not positive, but i THINK video. i never had a reason to put video on mine, so. but i can hold up to 1000 songs, which is GREAT for only $120 that i paid for it!

      physically,

      • this new ipod looks different form its predecessors and is more square than rectangular. it feels sturdier than the first generation, and its a lot more attractive than the previous models. however, i still am going to buy a casing for it because i’m clumsy and don’t want to scratch it, which unfortunately, happens quite often and easily with ipods, a definite negative and something i dont like.

the sound is great, much like the other ipods, but i replaced the white apple earpieces

with BOSE stereo earbuds instead, just because no sound quality can really compare to it. the controls are WAY easier to use than the generation 1, which was far too sensitive, and after i had it for a few months actually it stopped working as well–wouldnt turn on/off, would stall and freeze. it appears that the majority of the bugs have been worked out in the generation 3 and i would definitely recommend this! one of the best upgrades i’ve made this year!

If the music videos are not being played, the may be of an unsupported format. I don’t know which video format you’re using, but here’s a link to Apple’s website that shows which videos are supported:

The best solution for this sort of problem is to take your iPod to recovery mode. It generally solves this unreadable as well as any blackening screen issue with iPod. Connect your iPod to iTunes and then force restart it. Just ensure that you keep pressing the Sleep and Home buttons even after you see the Apple logo and until you get to the Recovery mode screen. Once you are on the update/restore window, select the option of`Update’.

You need to connect your iPod with iTunes to restore and recover everything. Don’t worry this is not as such a big problem, and you don’t need any special technical expertise to tackle it. Connect your iPod to iTunes and then force restart it. Just ensure that you keep pressing the Sleep and Home buttons even after you see the Apple logo and until you get to the Recovery mode screen. Once you are on the update/restore window, select the option of Update .

I put my ipod in screen lock and now my ipod is frozen on it even though i have turned screen lock off. how can i fix this?

    John says :

Run a reset on the device. To do this: Turn the hold switch on and off repeatedly. Press and hold the play button and the menu button. Hold them until the Apple screen comes up. Once this screen comes up allow it to load back to the main screen.

You have to reset your iPod in this condition and only it can come out of frozen situation. Reset the iPod by pressing and holding the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button simultaneously. Hold both buttons down for about 10 seconds, until the Apple logo appears. If this does not happen, your iPod’s battery may be depleted.
