Looking for a new place to live? Are you searching for a small town with culture and fun? Are you looking for reasonable prices on homes and land?

You have been out priced in your current living condition and are looking to make a move. You may or may not have a family, but whatever your lifestyle you’ll find Couer D’alene Idaho one of the best places available. Couer D’alene Idaho is located in the northern part of the state. It is a completely modern and culturally advanced small city. You will find theators, shopping, book stores and many wonderful resturuants. You will never be bored!

First a look at the prices. Homes range from $170,000 up into the millions for some of the finest homes you will ever find, but the medium range is $180,000 to $220,000.

In this price range you will find older homes to brand new with an average of 1500 to 1800 square feet of living space. If you are looking for land to build you can find parcels of 1/4 acre to 5 and 10 acre plots. Building permits can be obtained locally and you have a large choice of some very good contractors available in the area. But like anywhere else be sure to check the referrences of the contractor before

you make a choice of who to hire. Next is your in town entertainment. The city have several theators to choose from, including home town players and many great actors and actresses.

There are so many resturaunts to choose from you won’t be able to eat your way through them in a life time. There are the Outback known for it’s great steak and good beer and most recently a Red Robin has opened it doors. There are musems, shopping, art galleries, hotels and motels. But one of the finest places is the Couer D’alene resort. It’s boast one of the best eating places in the United States called Beverly’s. The resort also offers banquet rooms, top service and many jobs for the area.

It is the best place to stay and the chosen place for stars and visiting V. I. P. from all over the world. For the outdoor lover the Lake is remarkable. It is large enough that you can not cover it in a day.

The resort offer breakfast and dinner boat tours on the lake lasting about 2 hours at a time. They also offer plane tours and water fun right at the dock. There are beaches around the lake but in Couer D’alene the college is just a short walk from the resort and is ...

      • perfect for the student looking to work part time and swimming part time. This is one of the healthiest areas around. The air is clean and sweet. When the wind comes off the lake you can smell health, success and happiness.

The lake is a deep blue and ice cold until about July when it warms up enough to swim everyday and even on your lunch hour if you leave or work downtown!

The area is surrounded by lakes and rivers in every direction. There are forest and trees on every mountain and in every yard. To the north a very short distance is the town of Hayden with another lake and great living. It is only a ten minute drive into Couer D’alene if you choose to work in the city. This is a hikers, swimmers, hunters and animal watchers paradise. It has the right price and the right weather year round.

Summers are warm with only a few hots days. Winters are usually mild with an average of snow of about 6″ at a time. Only when there is hard weather everywhere does this area receive more. But the roads are kept clear of snow on a 24 hours basis. North of Couer D’alene by only 20 minutes is Silverwood Theme Park. It has one of

the best roller coaster in the United states and an attached water park.

It is open all summer with fun and events for everyone in the family. I live in this area and love it. I have had deer walk through my front yard as I look out the window at the pine trees lining our street. I live in a normal neighborhood, but with deer, skunk, cats, dogs and various wild life of all kinds. When you drive through the country you can see wild turkey’s and sometimes even moose roaming around. If you have never seen a moose up close you are missing a treat! For three years I have never been bored.

I have hiked in nearby woods, went swimming in the Spokane river only 4 blocks from my former home and went swimming in Hayden Lake on 5 minutes from where I live now. I have eaten some of the best hamburgers, steaks and venison in my life. I have seen flowers in full bloom, have a nearby Llama ranch and even enjoyed a good laugh when I drove by a home with a camel in the front yard. People are independent, tough, fun and happy here. It is worth the problems sometimes brought by living in the far north. I would not consider another move now that I have found a home in the woods.
