Watching this episode now, I have to wonder why the Law and Order Criminal Intent series decided to end their season with it. The previous episode is far better than this one, yet it is the season ended.

I really didn’t care for this episode very much, and I’m glad I didn’t watch it

      when it first aired.

The episode follows an accounting discrepancy found in a large company.

The woman who identifies the problem later disappears after picking up her daughter.

The little girl is found early the next day, her jacket covered in blood.

The woman is later found in her car, but she is obviously ...

      • alive.

The head of the department urges the detectives to drop the case because no one died, which proves that it isn’t a Major Case kind of problem.

As more evidence comes out though, even he agrees that they need to investigate.

There are all kinds of strange things going on this episode.

        They

devote several minutes to the relationship the woman had with a local contractor, though she is separated and her husband is living on the other side of the country.

It also takes them far too long to realize what is going on, which is a far cry from the other episodes and it makes the detectives look inept.
