  • The beautiful red colored sandstone was just amazing to climb, hike and just look at, the blue sky and the red rock seem to have a beauty all it's own
  • I believe it was $14 to camp and if you just wanted to spend the day here there is a fee of $6 per car
  • I throughly recommend spending some time here is you like the outdoors you will enjoy not only the peacefulness of this campground but the beauty as well

Valley of Fire State Park is a wonderful opportunity for a time-out from the Las Vegas glitter and glam atmosphere. Valley of Fire is located about 45 miles northeast of Vegas and it is a beautiful place to hike or to camp in the spring and fall. It really is to hot to explore in the summer months and to cold and unpredictable in the

winter months but we spent the night here on our trip and the spring weather was just perfect.

The hiking and climbing was fun and great exercise. The beautiful red colored sandstone was just amazing to climb, hike and just look at, the blue sky and the red rock seem to have a beauty all it’s own.

The camping is first come, first serve and although we had a small RV we couldn’t find a site with ...

      • electrical so we just dry camped. There are two campgrounds and each had water and restrooms, each site has a grill and picnic table. There is a shower house and a dump station. This is a clean campground, the attendants are friendly and helpful.

Lake Mead is close by and we could see that this lake was very popular with the boaters, they seemed to be everywhere. I believe it was $14 to camp and

if you just wanted to spend the day here there is a fee of $6 per car.

There is a visitor’s center which has some great educational exhibits on the history and geology of this state park. There is also a gift shop where we bought some beautiful postcards to send home.

I throughly recommend spending some time here is you like the outdoors you will enjoy not only the peacefulness of this campground but the beauty as well.
