We decided to make our weekly hiking trip to the Horseshoe Bend Military Park today. The park is dedicated to informing everyone about the battle of the Creek Indians at Horseshoe Bend.

They have a small museum inside the visitor center that was quite informative. It’s

nice to learn about history, and get your exercise at the same time! They also offer a 20 minute video presentation about the battle to anyone who is interested.

The hiking trail was 2.8 miles long and very well maintained. I would say it’s moderately easy in difficulty.

      • There were a few hills that could be hard on someone who is out of shape. The trail is well marked and laid out though. There are overlooks along the trail for the actual battle ground, and the settlement area.

        You can also do a

driving tour of the park if you’d rather. It makes for a very nice scenic drive. You can even take a picnic along if you like. There is a nice area set aside for the picnic’s.

If you are a nature lover you won’t be disappointed when visiting the park.

    • Don't Be Nice. Be Helpful.
