  • So we piled into a couple of cars daily and we had the best time helping her attain her goal
  • Located in Henderson which is just 10 miles down the strip, the Chocolate Factory tour was quite interesting
  • Chocolate freebies were abundant, we enjoyed munching on assorted chocolates in a beautiful lounge after the tour was over
  • The lounge itself was a topic of discussion, brightly colored with unique furniture we were all impressed with the decor
  • I'd definitely recommend checking this place out at least once during a trip to Vegas

Ethel M. Chocolate Factory and Botanical Cactus Gardens Two Cactus Garden Drive Henderson, NV 702-433-2500

Recently we spent two weeks in and around the Las Vegas and Laughlin, NV area with a group of fellow RV’ers. One lady in our group had researched free Las Vegas attractions and she was totally intent on checking every one of them off the list. So we piled into a couple of cars daily and we had the best time helping her attain her goal.

We found a variety of things to do that we never new existed. The Ethel M. Chocolate Factory and Botanical Cactus Gardens was a pleasant surprise. Located in Henderson

which is just 10 miles down the strip, the Chocolate Factory tour was quite interesting. The conveyor belt system and the huge pipes and tanks of chocolate and the packaging system was fascinating to watch. The sterile clean conditions of both the workers and the factory were impressive. The tour guide was very nice and friendly, she answered questions and enlightened us with the history of Ethel M. Chocolate, candy making and chocolate itself.

Chocolate freebies were abundant, we enjoyed munching on assorted chocolates in a beautiful lounge after the tour was over. The lounge itself was a topic of discussion, brightly colored with unique furniture we were ...

      • all impressed with the decor. Many of us purchased chocolates to take home with us, some even had them shipped home so the free tour wasn’t exactly free but that was our own fault.

Outside in the Cactus Gardens were a variety of Cactus, some had blooms on them, I would have never thought that a cactus could be beautiful but some of these do have a beauty all their own. We were told there were more than 300 assorted plants in the gardens. We tried to walk through the whole thing as we actually gorged ourselves on chocolates inside and we were feeling guilty and needing to walk.

We all thought it was odd to have chocolate and cactus together but were told that the owner had a fondness for both, we needed no other explanation. If you make a trip to Las Vegas and want something to do other than gamble this is a nice attraction to visit. It’s educational, family friendly, air conditioned, wonderful free chocolate treats are available and both the tour and the Cactus Gardens are free. I’d definitely recommend checking this place out at least once during a trip to Vegas. The Ethel M. Chocolate Factory was a fun place to visit and their chocolates are out of this world.
