The unrated version of Jason Goes to Hell is marginally better than the rated version, but that isn’t saying a whole lot. The movie still suffers from some plot problems, and some bad acting. After watching either version you will most likely end up feeling sorry for poor Erin Grey who has been subjected to this

kind of slop in her acting career.

The unrated version adds more gore to the movie, which ends up making everything a whole lot funnier. For example, we now see Jason’s brain stuck trying to find a body. It suddenly seems to grow arms and legs, and also seems to develop a tiny little face. This ...

      • strange creature than runs through the house until it finally forces itself on a dead body.

Sadly we still don’t see much of the actual Jason character. You should keep your eyes peeled for a cameo from Kane Hodder though, who played Jason in several of the movies. The only time we actually see Jason is

for a few minutes in the beginning, and a few minutes at the end. The rest of the time we are forced to watch other people kill in a similar style, as he possesses other people.

Give it a chance if you’re a horror movie purist. Otherwise watch the first few movies and skip this one.
