  • I like this book because it is a good introduction into military strategy, as it is more modern than most other works on the subject, such as Napoleon or Clausewitz, and it isn't overwhelming to read
  • In what I think is an attempt by the author to keep the book concise and to the point he doesn't put too much emphasis on the background of the conflicts he addresses in depth
  • If you are planning on a military career, this book will definitely be helpful to you in multiple ways

‘Strategy’ is a book that surprisingly, is about military strategy. Imagine that.

Anyways, it looks at various whole time periods, as in the medieval era, Roman era, Greek, etc.

and then breaks down a famous battle strategy, or a famous commander to the reader.

I like this book because it is a good introduction into military strategy, as it is more modern than most other works on the subject, such

as Napoleon or Clausewitz, and it isn’t overwhelming to read.

When it states something it says it short and to the point, without unnecessary embroidery in the statement.

I like these things because it helps me to understand what the author is saying without having to take a few whole hours to decipher six or seven pages into what the author is trying to say.

However, this book also has ...

      • its downsides.

In what I think is an attempt by the author to keep the book concise and to the point he doesn’t put too much emphasis on the background of the conflicts he addresses in depth.

Instead hoping that people will already have an understanding of the conflicts.

Plus, although simpler than most books on the subject, Strategy still requires thought to be really understood, and it is not

        exactly light reading.

But, with some thought, and if required, a little bit of background knowledge on military history, this book could be understood by anyone.

If you are planning on a military career, this book will definitely be helpful to you in multiple ways.

However, if not planning for a career in the military, and if you’re not an armchair general, this book won’t be too exciting for you.
