Val Kilmer plays Simon Templar, a sophisticated, technologically advanced thief who is also a master of disguise with multiple identities. When he steals a valuable chip from the Russian oligarch Ivan Tretiak (Rade Serbedzija), Tretiak is so impressed with the well-done theft that he hires Simon for another job: to steal the cold fusion

      formula from an American scientist.

      The scientist, Dr.

Emma Russell, is, of course, a young beauty (I wonder how often that happens in real life).

Simon learns all he can about her, including her tastes, and poses as a mysterious young artist - the type of a guy he knows she would be interested ...

        Emma is interested.

They end up together, and Simon begins to feel genuinely attracted to her, so much so that he decides to refuse stealing the formula - but the evil Russians won’t let him.

He does steal the notes and disappears with them.

However, the formula is incomplete, and the Russians refuse

        to pay.

Emma finds Simon, and the Russians start chasing them both.

Overall, the movie is okay, it is entertaining and refreshingly funny at times.

I do have one question though: why would Russians, in Russia, speaking to other Russians, use English?? This is not the first movie I see make this blunder, and it’s just ridiculous.
