I’ve always loved the Law and Order franchise, and SVU or Special Victims Unit in particular. One of their best seasons has to be season 5. I purchased the set on DVD when it was first released, and make it a habit to re-watch the season again at least once a year.

      The real stand out episode

of the season involved guest star Tom Skerrit. He turned up playing a judge who had a bias towards wealthier families. He would allow them to escape a sentence, but would always find poorer women and unwed mothers guilty of all charges. Watching him fight with the other characters on the show is just electric.

      Another great ...

      • episode involved Ice-T working undercover with a woman from the African Embassy. The two of them were helping to stop a man from trafficking children illegally into the country. He also has a great moment in the season when he is explaining to the others about black men on the “down low” having sex with other men.
When they all stare at him, and he has to defend himself for why he knows that little fact, it’s priceless.

The only thing missing from this season is more Munch. He is in every episode, but sometimes only has a few lines. As the funniest character on the show, I’d like to see more of him.
