      Back in the late 1980s, the director John Woo used to make some visually interesting films, but none of these had any depth, there was nothing beyond that beautiful surface. When he later

      was offered film projects in Hollywood, he couldn’t turn them down for the money.

      While there he didn’t have his old talented asian crews that made his old films look so good, and the result was just as I would have thought.

      Broken Arrow was one of these and features John Travolta as the bad guy and Christian Slater as the hero.

      Although some of the pace from John Woo’s earlier films can be seen here it is evident

      that the filmmaker is lacking talent.

      The story is so mundane and badly performed I almost had to shut it off at times.

      Travolta’s career was definitely going downwards again at this point and so was Woo’s.
