McKinney Hills State Park is 13 miles southeast of Austin off of US Hwy 183. It is a great place to camp if you want to spend time in Austin which is the capitol of Texas. Campsites with water and electric run $16 per night, tent campsites are $12 which is lots cheaper than a hotel! There are a couple of shower houses in the camping area and bathrooms throughout the park. When we were there both the bathrooms and the shower
house was clean and tidy.
