I visited a number of temples and pagodas during my visit to Southeast Asia. Shwedagon Pagoda in the City of Yangon, Myanmar, is absolutely one of the most impressive places in the country and in the region.

As I watched through the window of the airplane as it approched the City’s

airport, I could see Shwedagon Pagoda, so beautiful, tallest and most prominent in the City.

When I visited the Pagoda, high on a hill in the City, I was totally amamzed with the gilded structure, the shrines surrounding the Pagoda, the architecture of the buildings.

There were so many people, Myanmar buddhists ...

      • coming to worship and pray to Lord Buddha, and tourists from many eastern and western countries.

Shwedagon Pagoda is one of the most prominent monuments in the Buddhist world.

The first construction of the Pagoda goes back to Buddha’s time, and enshrined Buddha’s sacred hair.

It is certainly a must for

Buddhists visiting Yangon to go to Shwedagon to worship Lord Buddha.

It certainly is also a place for foreign tourists not to miss the opportunity to visit while in Yangon.

Take some pictures too for your album of your visit.

To me, Shwedagon Pagoda is absolutely one of the wonders of the world.
