The Chevy Avalanche is just the most deluxe, well-designed vehicle you ever want to see. When Chevy designed this truck they designed it with a deluxe look in mind. It is athletic yet really muscular looking. When we looked at trucks the dealership had a whole variety of colors. They are like the colors of the Honda motorcycle where they change colors depending on what kind of light is shining on them. The one that impressed me most was the blue metallic. That is a gorgeous color. Then the paint on the truck is very high luster finish. WOW!! Of course, this one was the more expensive of the bunch.

This particular truck had heated cloth seats seat and back these heated seats work really well. In no time flat your butt will be toasty warm and so will your back. I have to admit the leather ones look more rich, but they burn your legs off in the summer. I love

the interior but the back to seats are cramped for anyone besides kids. They just don’t work well if you have someone with long legs in the front seat with the seat pushed back. Actually, this truck made more for hauling small loads rather hauling people. The interior of the vehicle is made for the rough and tough, which is typical for Chevy anyway. Because of the way the truck is designed, there isn’t a whole lot of room inside the truck it is all in the back. The inside is very lavish and streamlined, even though you have the drop down in the back. The console is very modernly designed. The mid console and the dash have this glossy wood finish which is very pretty. The rest of the dash is black and is quite striking. The accessory buttons are on the steering wheel and I find this to be the handiest thing they ever did. I think reaching for things on the dash can be ...

      • unsafe, especially at night. The navigation system is really easy to see and easy to read, even in bright sunlight. Another great option is the backup screen. If you are towing something it is really handy to see where you are backing to instead of backing blind and hoping you are somewhat close to the coupler of the trailer. Oh yes, the sound system is awesome!!! Now you can hold 6 CD’s and can listen for hours.

The truck is extremely comfortable. It is not stiff and bouncy. The ride is soft and smooth and you don’t generally feel the road. You can take some really sharp turns without feeling top heavy. The truck is extremely quiet. You hear very little road noise. Additionally, the truck is so tight, even in the back that you don’t hear any air noises coming from the bed opening. I noticed that you have rather large blind spot where the back of the cab meets the upper sides. That is something that

you have to be really careful about.

The truck has some real guts and I find that it tows like a dream. The vehicle is heavy enough that you don’t get that pushed from behind feeling. That can freak you out especially on bad roads. The brakes are very responsive but you should still have a brake actuator when towing a trailer with electric brakes. It is easier on your truck’s brakes. The Avalanche really handles well you can cruise around curves and move very easily.

The vehicle will accept ethanol, but hey, it is still a gas hog. You will be lucky if you get 19 miles per gallon on the highway. The cost of the truck is huge. The price for a nicely appointed truck if $45,000. Chevy makes a really dependable vehicle so if you intend on driving it for 10 years, it is a good investment. I consider the truck to be a wonderful ride, a bit expensive maybe, but entirely worth it.
