  • If it wasn't for the striking images the story is told with I would even consider it mundane, but Protazanov certainly had a touch for cinema, although very different from the style of Eisenstein, Dovzhenko and others of the same era
  • Aelita is a beautiful film, but it didn't really tell me anything about my own life, which the great films should do in my opinion
