An animated film by famous japanese director Hayao Miyazaki and his Studio Ghibli. It is the story of a young woman named Mononoke who was raised by wild animals in the woods.

This is not a realistic film, more of a fairytale with

lots of supernatural things taking place.

Mononoke is the guardian of the nature, who sees it as her mission to fight against the humans who want to chop down all the trees and make the nature disappear.

In the middle of this stands ...

      • a young man the same age as Mononoke.

He is originally part of the human world, but feels sympathy for Mononoke and her cause, and finally decides to help her.

An astonishingly beautiful film from Miyazaki, my absolute favorite of his pieces of

        work.

Even though it doesn’t deal with a realistic kind of theme, it all feels so engaging, mostly dependent on strong characters and a human message behind everything.

The most powerful “anime” film I’ve ever experienced, although I couldn’t say it’s a favorite genre of mine.
