      We like doing what the locals do, when we were in Phoenix we went to the The Phoenix Zoo. It is a non profit zoo and is totally supported by donations and private organizations.

      We got there early in the morning because the days get so hot


      and the animals no matter where you are at tend to try to find the shad, just like you or I would do. We found out while we were in Phoenix that everywhere we went they had “Trails” for us to follow and it was no different when we visited their zoo. They had the Arizona Trail, the Africa Trail, the Tropics Trail, the Discovery Trail and the African Savanna.

      They had gila monsters, which I had never seen and giraffes, elephants, monkeys and the other animals that you would normally find in ...

      zoos. I liked walking around and seeing the different flora that adorned the sides of the paths. Their zoo was large for a relatively new zoo. They had plenty of animals to see, and there were seats and benches along the trails in the shade so
      that you could sit for a while. Wear walking shoes and take plenty of bottled water with you.

      We finished early and were out of there before noon, just too darn hot.
