Travelled to Malaysia last year and visited KL Tower (Menara KL) at night. The tower, standing 421 meters tall has a breaktaking view and can make your jaw and hat both fall. With its beautiful spot lights all around, it looked like a sci-fi object up in the sky. Indeed a must see place for everyone whether you are coming for the first time or the umpteenth time.

My comments and observations about KL Tower.

      1) The ticket for going to the observation deck is 15 Ringgit per person. You can go to the deck even late at night. We went at 10:00 pm 2) If you want to dine at the

revolving restaurant at the top, come early (4-5 pm) as there are long queues and reservations. We like many others were refused entry. The Restaurant (serves buffet) is a bit pricy but worth the pain due to its majestic views and the great variety of eastern and western delicacies, desserts, cakes, drinks etc.

      3) On the observation deck, we were given a video player with headphones which tells about KL Tower and its many features.

      4) There are very powerful binoculars fitted on the observation deck so you can even spot little bushes on the ground. We had fun peeking into the buildings and on the traffic in general.

      5) Elevators are ...

      • pretty fast and noiseless. We were up at the observation deck (stands around 300+ meters) in much less than a minute.

        6) We got souveniors at the entry floor and there are a lot of small restaurants where one can dine to ones fill.

        7) When we looked at the petronas twin towers from KL Tower it seemed lower than KL Tower because of the distance… also KL Tower is on a hill so that adds to its height.

        8) Parking was definitely a problem and we were guided by a cop to park on a green area separate from normal parking due to lack of space.

        9) For those who want

to get cabs on way back, it is better to walk to the main road (5-10 mins walk) as the cabs are cheaper than at KL Tower itself.

        10) Took lots of pictures inside and outside the tower. You need to have a camera with greater zoom (10x optical or more) and atleast 5 megapixels, if you want to take better pics. We had 3x optical and 2 mp and regretted it later.

        11) We were in casuals i.e. shorts/sneakers so we could not even otherwise go in the Restaurant where the dress code is more formal. Make sure on that if you visit the restaurant otherwise you can enjoy the observation deck only.

A must visit place hands down for all ages.

    Kevin says :

KL Tower got how many floor?

    Marg says :

It’s 82,882 sq ft but it only has 6 floors.
