I remember as a child playing the game of Life. I think the most appealing part of the game was that little spinner that never quite worked right. The game tended to be a little long for children, and wasn’t overly exciting. Now though, there is a new version of this game, but not by Parker Brothers. This is an original boardgame loosely based on that game. The difference here is it has a redneck theme.

      Overview:

Your goal in Redneck Life is to finish the game with the most teeth, I mean how else would a redneck compare himself to his friends?? During the game you can lose teeth based on different actions including

trying to open a beer can with your teeth. At the end of the game though after you pay off all your debts, you can purchase missing teeth. If there is a tie with number of teeth, then whoever has the most money wins.

      Gameplay:

This game is actually longer than Life, but it is hysterical for adults to play. First off, you don’t start off with any cash, you need to take out debt cards with the bank each time you owe money and pay them off as you can. Beware, at the end of the game if you still owe the bank will come knocking, on your teeth that is, if you haven’t ...

      • paid them off.

During the game you get a career (with a high school teacher being the most prestigious for a Redneck), you will purchase a car or several if you need to fit all your kids in more than one. You will also get married, and divorced. During the game you will pick up multiple red headed stepkids named Darryl, and experience other life experiences only rednecks could experience.

To move in the game there is no spinner, instead you roll dice to move along the game board, and you must stop as you pass certain spaces. You will at times receive a salary when you pass your payday spaces, and you will also have

to draw “Redneckin cards”. These cards will direct you to collect or pay money, lose teeth or have opponents lose teeth, or you might find “Revenge Cards”. These have special instructions on the card and can be used immediately or held for later in the game.

        Overall Impression:

This is a lot of fun for a group of adults to play if you want a game with no thinking involved. It is time consuming though and you should plan on spending about 90 minutes to play the game with about five players. Adjust your time expectation based on the number of players knowing that. Enjoy the Redneck Life game, and hopefully you will keep most of your teeth.
