      “Boston Legal” is about a law firm that consists of a team of skilled, but quirky defense lawyers. How can anybody not relish being able to see William Shatner and James Spader as Denny Crane and Alan Shore battle it

      out in a “ham” acting competition every episode? Both play characters that are sly, callous, completely self-absorbed and somewhat on the perverted side. It’s especially ironic, in a funny way, that Shatner’s Crane persona is the antithesis of his Captain Kirk character from “Star Trek”, who was almost ridiculously noble.       had often found “The Practice” to be very depressing. “Boson Legal”, on the other hand, is lighthearted, in comparison, even when dealing with serious topics. Candace Bergen, John Laroquette, Christian Clemenson, Taraji Henson, Tara Summers and others in both
      weekly and reoccurring roles all add their own excellence to this ensemble cast. “Boston Legal” is just a show to look forward to, but, as I indicated, it is Shatner and Spader who make me want to watch the most.
