It is good to know that during the last Sunday of July or during the first of August, Gdansk, a city in Poland, becomes the venue for the traditional Dominician fair, which is attended by guests from all over Poland. Then Gdansk turns into quite a busy place, you can see

      street artists, painters, singers.

A must-see place in Gdansk is Katownia Tower - once it was used as a prison and a torture hall, today it is a museum.

You can see how some unlucky souls were once tortured.

If walking through ex-Medieval prisons is not one of your favorite pastimes, then ...

      • visit the Town Hall, which is home of the City History Museum.

The view from the top is worth seeing, and in one of the halls there’s a permanent exposition of works of art made of amber.

The biggest brick church in Europe is in Gdansk - St Mary’s Church is

spacious enough to accommodate 25,000 people! And it took 159 years to get it built.

Obviously Gdansk worshippers were not people to rush things.

The church has 7 gates, each of them leading to a different street.

        Gdansk is a beautiful city.

If you ever go to Poland - definitely put it in your itinerary
