  • I felt so many emotions reading this book and I loved it so much I finished in about three nights
  • They have a lot of time to get to know each other in the novel, though I wish that there was a little more love between the two earlier on in the novel
  • I hate when reviewers give the whole entire plot and ending away in a review, because it's not a BOOK REPORT, it's a REVIEW, and so I hope this review gets you readers to want to read the book

Well, it happened. I read all of Jude Deveraux’s novels and was looking for an author that might be comparable to her, if not better. I found someone almost better! Kathleen E. Woodiwiss is awesome. I felt so many emotions reading this book and I loved it so much I finished in about three nights!!

This book is amazing! I didn’t think anyone could write a better historical novel than Margaret Mitchell’s Gone With the Wind. And maybe this book isn’t better,

but it’s almost just as good. It was the right ‘escape’ I needed at the right time.

I love Alaina, the main character. She is strong and resilient. And the main guy, it’s great. They have a lot of time to get to know each other in the novel, though I wish that there was a little more love between the two earlier on in the novel; I hated to have it so far to the end, but seriously, it got ...

      • me going because I was like ‘It’s about time’, and almost cheering when they FINALLY got together….

The history is great, it has great descriptions of things going on around the main characters, their enemies are wonderful, I couldn’t ask for anything better. It was literally one surprise after another; I didn’t want to be without another Kathleen E. Woodiwiss book so I actually went out and bought another one in the middle of reading this one, her books are seriously that

good! And this book is down to earth, it doesn’t have all that sugary flowery mumbo jumbo that you are sometimes embarrassed to read in some romance novels.

You will not be wasting your time reading this book; I hate when reviewers give the whole entire plot and ending away in a review, because it’s not a BOOK REPORT, it’s a REVIEW, and so I hope this review gets you readers to want to read the book; I PROMISE you won’t regret it.
