I have long been a fan of Maybelline make-up, but I had never bought one of their single eye shadows before, especially for $7.99CDN plus tax. Previously I had bought little boxed palettes of four different eye shadows from Maybelline, but this time I was entranced by this little bottle of peachy glittery eye shadow.

I deliberately picked a neutral shade that I knew would compliment my

green eyes, and I couldn’t wait to try it. Maybellines packaging said that this was a ‘loose powder’ eye shadow and contained a sponge tip applicator. When I removed the plastic wrapping there was a tiny jar of eye shadow in a clear jar, about half the size of a mascara tube. This vintage champagne colour actually has a bit of a peach tint to it,

      • so I really think the colour should be renamed; that said it’s a perfect neutral eye lid colour for most women.

This is a fantastic eye shadow, and defiantly replaces those chalking palettes of colour. With the sponge tip applicator I can either apply a lot of vintage champagne colour or just put a little on the tip to give my eyes a tiny bit of glittery

colour. The applicator feels like a strong q-tip in my hand but is very sturdy, and it has never broken or cracked.

My only complaint about this product is the price; $7.99CDN plus tax is a lot to pay for one eye shadow, even if it does give excellent colour and coverage. It comes in a tiny bottle 0.9grams. I will stay buy another one, in a bright colour!

    quick note by anonymous :

I agree, 7.99 is a lot for such a small bottle, but it does work and really goes a long ways. I would pay the price again to get more varity.

do you find any sensitivities to this formula? I have very sensitive eyes and they are allergic to many formulations.

When you applied this eyeshadow, did you experience any difficulties? Did the powder seem to clump or fall too loosely? Do you recommend applying this eyeshadow with or without a foundation base?
    catheriena says :

Darling i am also using this eyeshadow and not ounce did it the powder clamp or fall to loosely it was just perfect for my eyes and i recommend u use it without a base foundation works the best for me like that
    Joanna says :

I definitely use mine with a foundation base and my finger. It seems to stick on a little better than without foundation and with the use of a brush. It is a little expensive and can crumble easily, but using the foundation, or at least a moisturizer base, has made a real difference.

    Pretty expensive
