  • I don't get it - Ford takes the time to design the car like the 1960's mode and does a really nice job and then throws in pieces of platic

This car is so cool because it looks like the 1960’s model. It is pretty much a replica ofthe old model with the rear wheel drive, big V8 engine and manual transmission. The care is just a bit different but I can’t exactly put my finger on it - maybe the wheel wells. The inside of the car is a replica of the oldmodel too. Of course the technolog is 2005, but the style is 1960’s.

The seat is just really comfortable. You get in it and that bucket seat fits you like a glove. With a little bit of seat adjustment, I felt like I was sitting

in a cockpit. My feet fit the clutch and accelerator just perfect. The car also had the leather seats of the older model. Hotter than heck in the summer, but you learn to carry a towel along in the care. As typical of Ford, they like to cheapen things. The older model was entirely leather, the steering wheel and the shifting knob were some osrt of crumby looking plastic. The steering wheel even had and odd type shape. I don’t get it - Ford takes the time to design the car like the 1960’s mode and does a really nice job and then throws in pieces of platic. It is like spitting on a Versace dress. The inside of the car has no identity in color, just sort of dull. A little more flash would have helped, since the inside of the car is a charcoal color. There were no annoying car noises and the car rode very nice and quiet. Everything fit together really well and to me it shows quality and attention concentrated on fit and a sense of pride. Usually as a car gets older the door fit, etc. gets sloppier and that is where the noises come from. So, consequently, good fit, less noise.

      The care drives very smoothly.

It takes turn and sticks to the road like a high end sports car. If you like the sound of power, this engine just growls. The most sexy, gut rumbling sound and feeling as you sit in the car. When takingoff from a stop it just roars off and is the most wonderful feeling. When driving down the 4 lanit it cruises, so smooth and very stable. It is comfortable enough to be able to drive 5 or more hours a day without feeling cramped up.

I gatta say that this car is really meant for 2 people. The front seat is roomy enough the the driver and

passenger, but forget the back. Kids maybe. The truck is fairly big. You can stow some luggage and a bit more when the seats are flopped down. The trunk release is almost impossible to find. I dug out the driver’s manual and finally located the release. WHAT!!!! Additionally, it is really difficult to see to the back side of you as you drive. You have to be on your toes when going from lane to lane.

If you are looking for a reasonable priced car, don’t look here because you won’t find it. With a few extras, the car was about $33,000. Definitely not your average family car!
