Alpha Q has been around since 1994, and every year they seem to get better. This company is known for their seatposts, handlebars, stems, and forks all made of carbon fiber. Their latest offering is the CX 20 Cyclocross fork. The CX 20 was made to evenly distribute fiber during its construction process. Everyone who has used it, has fallen in love with this

The CX 20 is significantly smaller and lighter than the last fork from Alpha Q, weighing in at only 450 grams or less than one pound. The problem with some forks on the market is that they are too heavy, due in part to their construction. Alpha Q has made sure that this problem doesn’t exist with the CX 20. They have also ...

      • gone out of their way to create a heavier model, by adding 47mm titanium lugs. They are also significantly more flexible than some of the other types out there.

Now for the downside. If you want your warranty to stay in place, you absolutely cannot mix your plugs on this one. We all love compression plugs, but add them and you’ll be voiding your

warranty. With a 3 year automatic warranty in place, you’ll probably want to leave them alone. Something that I’m not too crazy about on this one too is the price. At $570 they’re a little more expensive than some comparable forks. You need to pick between a quality piece that you can’t customize, or a less expensive option that might not be as strong.
