Moment Of Truth: Broken Pledges is a Lifetime movie about a mother who loses her son to college hazing. Evidently, as the story goes, the young man was being inducted into a college fraternity and during the process, was forced to drink copious amounts of alcohol, which in the end, killed him.

Moment Of Truth movies on Lifetime are normally based

on true events that happened, and from what I understand, this movie and this family was groundbreaking in assisting in laws against college hazing.

What I think about this movie is that it is terrible to lose your child, no matter the child’s age.

Certainly this young man was in the beginning of his life, off to college and with seemingly ...

      • a bright future.

His last conversations with his mother included that he had decided to change his major to history, because he wanted to be a teacher.

His mother hangs up the phone and tells the family that her son sounds so happy and like he is having fun.

The next phone call is about his death.

        What is sad is

that the mother crusades on getting laws to protect young people such as her son, but the remaining family members hound the mother and tell her that she does not spend enough time with them anymore.

I cannot imagine losing a child, but I am sure that I would be just as brave as this woman was if that were to happen.
