We live so close to Washington DC that we try to get there at least once or twice a year. We like to go in the spring when the Cherry Blossom are in Bloom. We go to Independence Avenue, and on that street you can see the Lincoln Monument.

This is just an awesome sight to see, Lincoln sits in a

masuleum, with Greecian Ionic pillars surrounding him. He watches out over the reflecting pool on all of Washington. His prescense can be felt even today for the impact that he had on the United States. IF not for him our country would be like Europe a bunch of small countries that would not be a world power. He was a hero ...

      • before his time and the right man in the right place for this country.

Abraham Lincoln was a very good president, and he was fair to everyone during the turmoil of the Civil War. When he was assasinated Washingtonians decided to dedicate a monument to him. One of the most popular sights to see when you are in Washington.

        The walk

up to the monumnet through the park is wonderful. And reading the inscriptions on the walls of the monument are breathtaking.

It is a must to see when you are in Washington. Please make sure that you get to stop by this wonderful monument on your tour of Washington DC
