I love stephen King books, and I really like when they turn them into movies. We watched the Shining on Saturaday the one with JAck Nicholson in it.

it was such a spooky movie, here is this family that you realize that they are having a hard time at life. Jack is a writer who is

suffering from writers block. He is unemployed and he interviews for this job as a caretaker at the Overlook Hotel for the winter. He gets the job and he takes his wife and son along with him to live alone at the Overlook throughout the entire winter. There he hopes to be able to concentrate and ...

      • write again.

The scenes where he finally goes loony and tries to kill his wife and son are thrilling to say the least. He takes an axe and goes after his wife. She in turn tries to fend him off by using a knife and slashing away at his hands.

That is when things start to get

spooky, he talks to ghosts, they appear in the hallways and his son almost becomes catotonic saying redrum, redrum. Murder spelled backwards.

What a great movie, truly done well and well worth the time to watch the movie. I would recommend it to anyone.
