film: parineeta language: Hindi produced by:vidhu vinod chopra creative producers: vir chopra and rajkumar hirani music director: shanthanu moitra lyrics: swanand kirkire

Its time for a review from our side and its about a music. Its about the film “Parineeta” by vidhu vinod chopra. yeah u guessed it right. Its from the same guy who gave us the music of “1947-a love story”. who can forget those mesmerizing lines javed akhtar wrote “ek ladki ko dekha to aisa laga.

” we are sure there might be very few among u who might not have hummed

its tune atleast once. Parineeta is a film made by pradeep sarkar. its a vidhu vinod chopra adaptation of the bangali classic novel of Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay. The lyrics of the film are by Swanand kirkire and music by Shantanu moitra.

The film has seven music melodies but difficult to identify which is the best. it has songs for all moods and they transport u into a different world when you hear them. The song “piyu bole” by sonu nigam and shreya ghoshal is as soft as a feather and relaxes your mind beyond words. The music is composed purely on organ and traditional instruments.

Once this song is over, you are cajoled into sound of an old steam engine starting with music against its backdrop and again u are taken thru a different era of music. this number is so rhyming that it catches ur mind. The song ends when the train engine also stops. So rich feeling… All the songs in this album are totally different from each other and none of them are shadowed from each other.

      The song ...

“raat hamari toh”by chitra and swanand is a emotional song sung in the night. The insect sounds in the background adds values to the whole song. anyway it’s a gem. (try hearing it late night.

it’s a “hatke”feeling). This song is a master piece on any day. ”kaisi paheli zindgani”. by sunidhi chauhan takes u back to 1970’s.

with lots of electric guitar and saxophone binding it together. makes u sway unknowingly. And finally the song “soona man ka aangan”. by sonu and shreya …its a cry coming from deep inside the heart…so

      touchy.

u can feel it. A song by one “mousi” narrating some idiotic story could have been avoided but then maybe the film story might have warranted that song. The producer has taken lots of pain in getting the right lyrics for the songs, the right music and has selected each and every singer after lots of thoughts and all of them have given their 100%. thanx shanthanu dada.

thanx a lot. Indian film music is still alive and kicking and that is very glad. May be this is one of our favourite albums after “mrityudand:. Buy it .

hear it. u will love it…its a collectors item.
