Normally, I enjoy episodes of Monk. The latest episode, Mr. Monk and the Three Julies was an OK one but not as enjoyable as others.

First of all, I really felt for his assistant Natalie. They are at a crime scene and she overhears the police radio mention her daughter Julie’s name as part of a murder. When she finds, to her relief,

it’s another Julie Teeger, they receive another report of yet another Julie Teeger getting killed.

Unfortunately, the fact she destroys the captain’s car driving to both crime scenes is really the only real funny moment in this entire episode. You have them tracking down a mentally ill man who they suspect of killing the other two women because his mom (also named Julie ...

      • Teeger) died and he kept her body.

I actually lost respect for Julie in this one because I do think she was a bit of a drama queen over getting her drivers’ license. Everyone around her suspects she might be a potential victim and goes out of their way to keep her safe and she gets mad because she has to postpone her

exam. Honestly now, are teenagers really that stupid?

There also really wasn’t a whole lot of Monk in this one. He ends up solving the case but doesn’t do much in terms of detective work until the very end; by then, you pretty much suspect the guy in custody isn’t the killer.

It was an OK episode, just not one that meets my expectations from the series.
