After having bought and had such good luck with Classic Equine’s other pad the ContourPedic I decided to try this pad as well. I can say that while I do like this pad it is not nearly as easy to maintain and clean as the foam based ContourPedic.

The upside to this pad is that it is

a little dressier and if you are showing or rodeoing then this pad might be more to your liking than the plainer and more basic use appearance of the ContourPedic.

As for workmanship, construction, durability, materials quality and overall beauty this pad is hard to beat.

It has a New Zealand Wool top, a 1/2″ memory foam middle ...

      • layer and an 5/8″ orthopedic grade felt bottom to funnel moisture and heat away from the back of the horse.

Like the ContourPedic pad the ESP also offers oil tanned wear leathers that are cut out through the rider’s leg and girth area to allow close leg contact for a better feel.

        The company claims that you

can wash the underneath felt part of the pad and yes you can, but you do have to be care to not get water on the top of the pad around the wool or you could possibly damage the pad.

I do like this pad but dollar for dollar I would say that the ContourPedic is the better buy.
